Hi ppls, I still don't understand what chess points are, can somebody plz explain to me, coz I'm seriously confused here, what is it for...
Why do we get a chess point when we post something in the forums?
It's is a member point, they do not count for ANYTHING so there is no reason to make posts just to get points.
yeah, guess so, tq atomichicken n' mm40
Member Points: Chess.com keeps track of all of your contributions to the site such as comments, blog posts, forum participation, articles, etc. Each contribution counts for points. This helps members know how involved each other are in Chess.com!
So they do nothing?
Darn, my points have been for nothing. I hoped for something out of them! Well i guess i get one more useless point anyway. :p
yeah, i thought so too, disturbedman93
well, now it's clear to me that they worth nothing...but maybe I'll keep posting on my blog....
yeah, i like posting 2!
I just wanted a point. This may be my only lonely onely. . . I mean one.
Well, I think that the notion of chess points is a good idea. It can help identify someone who is truly passionate about chess from someone who thinks of chess as a hobby or pasttime.
yes, i agree with u chesssat
I want a point
...
Yes!
Hi guys,
I would like to know where and how we get points. I now understand that we get on point for a forum post. But what other ways do we get points. I think points are valuable. I look at a guys points to know how seriously to take him. This is a good topic, thanks for posting it.
Watch your backrank.
Points for post, huh? Sounds fishy... think I'll try it.
Looking at points as a way to take people seriously? You must be kidding. Many people post nonsense to get points whether it be an answer or an original post. I look at the topic and what the person says before deciding to take it seriously. Also if the question (answer) has chess analysis in it I look at the person's rating. That may make me snobby but so be it--rating do influence how I look at the chess answers.
Nonsense.
