What are your favorite chess quotes?

I am reminded of my favorite sports quotes, probably my all time favorite was Raymond Floyd (I could be wrong, it might have been someone else). When he was asked what to do if a lightning storm started while out on the golf course, he said "I just hold up my 2 iron. Not even God can hit a 2 iron."

You might have to be a golfer to enjoy that one.

But I'm also reminded of Bobby Fischer's collection of quotables... such as "to get squares ya gotta give squares" or "Chess is knowing how to punch and when to duck."

Seems there might have been a thread on this already. Sorry if this is redundant.

1. "Why must I lose to this idiot!" (I think it was either Nimzovich or Tarrasch)

2. "I like to see 'em squirm"-Bobby Fischer

3. "I don't believe in psychology. I believe in good moves"-also Fischer

4. Not a quote, but Alekhine once resigned a tournament game by throwing his king across the room.

A chess game is divided into three stages: the first, when you hope you

have the advantage, the second when you believe you have an advantage, and

the third... when you know you're going to lose! - Tartakower

" I don't know who is better Bobby, but I offer a draw", " I don't know who

is better either, but I have an extra pawn." Fischer-Hort Siegen 1970
