Just going out from the live chess, a person told me that it is better to play matches with person who has a higher ranking than your move its because the higher the ranking the higher the points you get.... But I think, it really depends on how you work on your move than to play with a higher ranking but without any knowledge in moves......Undecided Hope you could choose which is more important, your moves or the kind of player youve been match-up.

Best regards,

I do not know how many more points you gain from playing a higher ranking opponent, but I certainly can tell you that loosing a game with an opponent that ius 400 points or less from your ranking is very costly.

Who care I play chess not retings.

But I must also be carefull to try to keep a rating that reflects my level of play to attract players at my level and above as some players on this site do not play anyone that is less than say 2000.

My suggestion is that you may want to group your futures chess games offerings in 3 categories:

1. Players at your level, +/- 200 points from your level, play 60% of your games in this category.

2. Higher ranking players I woul suggest not to go more than 400 points more than your level, they are too strong above that in my opinion and you want to have a chance to win. Play 20% of your games.

3. Lower ranking players, you may want to elect to play any newcomer on the site, their initial rating is 1200, but some are much stronger. You can check the box that says: be a greeter, in your on line settings to play with new comers, you will be matched automatically to a new comer. And if you get too many requests you can at anytime uncheck the box.

Beware though that only about 10% will finish the game, as they are perhaps only visiting and have no interest as they are not happy or they simply quit and leave. Play 20% here. These are only suggestions as you certainly want to win occasionnally and try better players and give the opportunity to new comers to play with you.
