Hi all,
I am a pretty average player, I reckon I am at between 13-1400 elo, not quite a club player, but not exactly a beginner either, I have read Patrick Wolffs "The Complete Idiots Guide To Chess" which I found very useful, and have also bought Chernev's Logical Chess move by move, Reuben Fine's "The ideas Behind the Chess Openings" and more recently My System, which I think may currently be a little over my head, and also How to Play the English Opening by Karpov.
I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a good end game basics book, not too basic, but not too heavy in the transpositions etc. Also, any other books you would recommend for the intermediate player.
Thanks,
Jamie.

I second Silman's book.
If you get it, don't bypass the early chapters because you think you know it well enough. There are gems of wisdom in there that you may or may not already know, but he joins them well, and uses them to build the later material.
Thanks all, I have ordered Silman's book. I shall look and see if I can get Euwe's book in English Shadow.
