Funny how certain rules take us time to understand or get used to. En Passant is one... the one for me that had me shaking my head was stalemate.

I couldn't believe that if I was 3 pieces up and circling in against my opponents king, a stalemate was possible, and the game would be drawn. It made NO SENSE to me at all. After all, at the time, the point of the game was more about taking pieces, and checkmate was only something that happened when my opponent had no pieces left.

I think once we have the experience with chess, these rules start to make sense to us. This rule is no different. The rule makes sense, it is all a matter of perspective.
