To all of you who missed the great musical "Chess" recorded in 1984, either because you were too young then or because it didn't become a big hit in your country, give it a second chance! Even though it contains some sounds from the 80's, I think most of is timeless. Check it out on wiki! Download, buy, borrow, listen!

I LOVE that musical, one of the best, incredible duets.

Not exactly the original, but here's one of the songs from the musical. http://youtube.com/watch?v=20dPYiAErU0

I'm listening to "One Night in Bankok" right now. It's annoyingly catchy, but oh so theater geeky...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Fyg0h6tk-MM&feature=related " target="_blank">Here's another one, with sound form the original studio recording (at least in the beginning... strange). It's an extremely 80 video, with hairspray and  soft beams ofl light, but the song is cool.

"From square one I'll be watching all... 64!"..

I love this musical... I have played so many games with this as the soundtrack.

My personal favourite - Nobody's Side

On second thought, DON'T look at all those videos! Today, the low budget videos make the music seem silly. Get the double album and listen a few times, then judge!

I think the silliness is part of the appeal.

My favorite musical.  Funny that it's now almost a nostalgia work what with the Soviet Union gone.

You are right about getting the original cast recording.  They butchered the story to bring it to the New York Broadway stage, and it never found the following it enjoyed in London.
