You will note that the group size was increased from 5 to 6 so players could be eliminated faster and consequently the number of rounds might be decreased or held to a reasonable number.
There are many complaints about the time it takes to complete the official tournaments. One of the biggest complaints is the next round does not start until all games are completed. I suggest many advancing players, once all the advancing players are known, might prefer as a second choice that non-advancing players have their games adjudicated rather that letting them play it out.
