Nearly a year ago, when my boyfriend, Mark (ChessMarkstheSpot) got more heavily into chess and began spending a lot of time on Chess.com, when he first showed me all that this site offers and how well it was all put together, my eyes widened more and more, being more and more impressed by everything I saw. This is how I felt:

And this is what I did:

    I became a member immediately!

I barely knew anything about chess, but was compelled to be a part of something this wonderful! Since then, both of us have become more involved with this site than we'd ever intended or could've foreseen, and I have to say--I couldn't be happier or prouder to support and be a part of a community as commendable and AMAZING as this. I am personally grateful for the outstanding "products" everyone at this site has afforded us, both premium and non-paying members alike.

And the thing I like best is that the people who run this site and are involved on that level, are truly nice, good people who sincerely care and do everything in their power to continuously IMPROVE what is already so good! How often can you say that in this world?

So, honestly, when I hear unreasonable complaints about how this site is run (I’m not saying things are “perfect,” because nothing in this world is), all I think of is that there are some very spoiled, ungrateful people in this world who don’t know a good thing when they see it, and somehow think they can do a better job.

And if the quality of this site doesn’t speak for itself, to those who are either blind or lack common sense (or both!): the exponential growth of the memberships on this site is mind-boggling. If things were so bad, that wouldn’t be possible and the membership would continuously DEcline.

I, as one of the 3.3 million+, am VERY happy to be here and am VERY grateful to all those who make this place so great, including some very special members. And in case there are some of you who didn’t see this, you might want to check it out:

hhhmmmm...me thinks there are a few people who should build their OWN chess site since, even when something is THIS good, they're never satisfied or grateful.

I stopped living on here due to the nature of most of the posts, but this one has drawn me back to join in and say I agree wholeheartedly, you staff persons are quite exceptional, a pleasure to deal with. Good people in a bad world

    Best regards,

Wouldn't ever touch any social networking site with a 10 foot pole, but this is the easily the best hobby-based community site out there.   The staff/admins really do a remarkable job.

This is one staff member i have frequent dealings with while modding she is what members would describe as "the spirit of Live Chess" :)

And i really cannot stress how much work and effort she relly does put in. Not only is she hard working, fair and organised, but also never seems to log off :)

Despite all the work she does, she still seems to make time for individuals and really helps them on this site, even if its questions that have been asked millions of times, she doesnt lose her patience, she understands people and makes a huge impact on people too.

kohai is the morale of Live Chess, like the commander of an army, the Live Chess Army :)

A BIG thank you too you kohai

PS i dont intend to single out any staff in this forum, but kohai is the staff that i can speak about personally, from knowing her for quite some time:)

It's awesome this website with sooo many resources. I haven't been in ICC or Playchess but I was in FICS, you have to download and install software and the GUI is so poor. Well done & congratulations. All you guys should be so proud of what you accomplished.

BTW Football Club Barcelona won the spanish league this night. It's a great day!!

I agree with you but just to let you know a lot of people ( myslef as a frequet user of ICC included) find that software for online chess is a plus and not a bad thing.

But thanks to all the staff for providing an awesome website!
