all of houdini's pieces are on the queenside, and in the french, the king can be quite happy sitting on a square like f2 or g2. the only criticisim I have to my plan is it is slow

Re3 threatening to step the rook into the attack at any point, it can't be a target of any tempo gains on e3 any time soon, so I think it should be pretty good.

I'm not sure kh1 is a bad move, but it's probably just losing a bit of time. The knight can move to e8 after Re3 if we ever want to budge the f-pawn.

I like Bb5, threatening to take the knight and then play Bxa5.  I suspect houdini will play Nb4 then we should play Bxd7 and then Nc5.

There's a flaw in my cunning plan a5 is defended by the Rook...

I'm confused how we would play Bxa5? Isn't that just losing a piece?

I think Bb5 to take the tension out of the queenside, setting up Re3. Happy with Re3 first but the queenside is giving me hives.

Be3 allows Nc5 in the future. Bb5 may be better, black will prob play Nb4 either way.

That's why I was suggesting it when we played Bd2. Playing Be3 now is conseading that that was a bad move. Which it was IMHO.
