A recent thing going on has been forum games. This is chess.com vs Houdini! Chess.com will get white. Everyone discuss and vote on the move, and when you all decide what to play, at 8:00 AM Pacific voting ends. I will turn on Houdini and give you his move at 9 AM Pacific, obe hour later, that day, and it will be your turn again. I will keep track of the moves and vote count on this post. Please put your final votes in red so I can put it here. ANY VOTES THAT ARE NOT RED WILL BE COUNTED AS ANALYSIS/KIBITZING/SPAM. Official announcments/moves by Houdini will be announced in purple. Let's see if you can beat him! (No engines please) NOTE: Houdini will not be using an opening book, pure analysis only

    Moves so far: 1.e4 c5 2.c3 e6 3.Nf3 Nc6 4.d4 d5 5.e5 Nge7 6.Bd3 Bd7 7.0-0 Ng6 8.Re1 Be7 9.Nbd2 cxd4 10.cxd4 Qb6 11.Nb3 a5 12.a4 h6 13.Bd2 0-0 14.Rc1 Rfd8 15.Bb5 Nb4 16.Bxd7 Rxd7 17.Re3 Rc7

Houdini has a vast opening book based on solid principles; I'd like to see how it handles the atypical positions that arise from irregular openings.  I do believe 1.f3 is our only chance to win.

is it fair to say chess.com votes 1e4?

Abolutely not! d4 needs more votes. How about the votes are totaled and the move is made after 12 hours?
