as I said, creaters highly overestimate their engines. Official elo rating is 3253 (I have the old free version, not the new one that cost money)
@PatzerLars lol

Im signing off for a bit guys. Since we got moved to off topic, not many people will see us, so try to spread the word. We need as many people as possible to beat Houdini!
I'm back! haha im not leaving after all. @deacon21 scary stuff
want to play a few games on live deacon?
ok deacon

3300 ???? I didn't think anything was rated that high, you sure abou this ?
There are computer rating lists, and they do go above 3000 thats for sure.
Although Kasparov could give them a run for their money (when in top form)
yeah the high ratings are computers playing against computers. if they were in normal OTB, they would be high, but I doubt theyd break 3000

Let's see if you can beat him! (No engines please)
I can guarantee you some people will in fact be using engine analysis in their move choices. The game isn't officially sanctioned or rated, so there's nothing to stop it from happening. Besides, there would be no point if they couldn't. Humans can't beat today's powerful chess programs, even in long CC time controls. If they could, then the ICCF wouldn't be dominated by Houdini users.

I have no doubt that an organized, well functioning group of thousands of players, including very strong ones, could beat houdini, but I don't think this forum chess thing will come anywhere near an optimally functioning group.
There is also no real evidence as far as I know to suggest that humans can or can not beat the engines in CC time controls. ICCF champions are still usually strong OTB players.
im hoping for a good match
but since this got moved to off topic, which it shouldnt have, i dont think we will get many players
i sent chess.com a support ticket but they havent replied
makes me mad :/
The mods piss me off. I think they should be required to give a reason whenever they edit something, delete something, move something etc.
Come on, this is obviously not off topic. Either there's something they know that I don't, or they forgot Houdini is a chess engine.
Jabba_The_Mutt
Apparently they moved it back to general. So a friendly bump here. I'm interested to see how this will work out
As it is nearing 10, is it safe to say e4 is the move?

they responded to my support ticket and moved it back. Go chess.com! Anyways, its almost 8 Pacific, 1 hour left to vote!
champ_weller
lol we should let houdini anaylze our moves after the game to see what moves it suggested for us lol
haha good idea champ. After the game we should do a live analysis in live chess on a board, that would be fun.
Only 15 minutes left, looks like 1.e4 is going to win
