Just curious...

I have been having so much trouble trying to set up my computer game (Chessmaster 10th Edition) so that I can play online. For some reason when I try and log on it says, "could not read configuration file." Has anyone had this problem? I have contacted ebisoft.com, the company who makes the game, and the person who was trying to help me online, was not reading my posts. They were making suggestions about things I have already tried and asking questions to find out things I already said in previous entries. I just gave up working with this person. I am going to try and call Unbisoft to work with someone directly, but I thought I would post this online to see if anyone else has had this problem and or to promote this problem that I am having with the game.  I really like the game and would like to be able use all its features but this is getting frustrating.

Any help or feed back will be appreciated. Thank you.

Yea, i had this problem. I think its because the games 2-3 years old now they may not be running the online site, though i may be wrong. With FRITZ though i had no problems getting onto their online community even though it was quite difficult to navigate; compared to the ICC that is.

You might have better luck addressing this question to the folks at the official  Chessmaster 10 forums.

DEAR  CHRISTOPHER 93,  I  ALSO  HAVE  CHESSMASTER 10TH EDITION  AND  HAVE  NO  PROBLEM  WITH  IT, I  AM  NOT COMPUTER  LITERATE.  I JUST  LOADED IT  AND  WHEN  IT  OPENS  UP,  YOU  HIT THE  CIRCLE TO PLAY,  ON THE  FAR  RIGHT  CIRCLE, YOU  WILL PICK  A  COMPUTER  OPPONENT  AND THEN  PLAY  THEM.

IFAFTER  YOU  HIT  PLAY,  I THINK YOU  GO TO  SECOND TO LAST CIRCLE  AND IT WILL SA PLAY ONLINE  AND IT  WILL SEND YOU  TO  THE INTERNET,  YOU  THEN

DO  YOUR  DROP DOWN MENUS ACROSS THE TOP OF MONITOR,  PICK  PLAYERS  AND IT  WILL BRING YOU  TO  A  SCREEN OF PLAYERS  ON LINE  WITH  VARIOUS USER NAME.  PICK  ONE  OUT  AND CHALLENGE THEM,  THE COMPUTER  WILL ASK YOU  TO SET  UP REQUIREMENTS  FOR  GAME,  STANDARD OR   BLITZ,  LENGTH OF TIME OF MOVE  ETC.

IF YOUR  HAVING PROBLEMS,  TRY  RELOADING IT AGAIN  AND FOLLOW  INSTRUCTIONS,  YOU  ALSO HAVE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS THAT COME  WITH  GAME

I  HAVE IT AND ENJOY IT                             GOOD  LUCK  TONY  (antne003)

my  email is  antne003@comcast.net)in case i  can help  you  further,  but  my computer  skills are not much

I used to use chessmaster's online service before I realized it was crap. If you want a game log on to FICS and enjoy! :)
