I have tried to use the computer analysis of games here , but it hasn't helped me much. I always feel I should be playing Checkers, after it points out that 35% of my moves are mistakes and another 10% are inaccuracies! Then the analysis shows how I could have gotten more from their preferred move, that is a dozen moves Deep.

Does anyone know a good site for playing Checkers?

My guess is checkers.com :)

I often feel dumb when I analyze a game, either I have blundered somewhere or my victory is a result of the opponents blunder.

But I do find the analysis useful, it helps me see what I could (should) have done better.

It is depressing, partly because it only makes negative judgments and comments. I sometimes think it will start saying things like 'you are a worthless human being' and 'people at work laugh at you behind your back', and so on. But you can turn it round: it analyses at 2500 level, that is strong GM level, so every time it says nothing, you have played at that level yourself. Is this unique to chess? I can't say to myself that if I were playing football I would play well enough to be part of Barcelona or Man U (except in straightforward fantasising), but when the computer analysis says nothing, that's what you're doing. So if you have your 25% mistakes and 10% inaccuracies, or whatever, the rest of the time, wow! For an hour of a ninety-minute football game, you were Thierry Henry or Wayne Rooney!

Here is the computer anaylsis of a game I played recent as black.  I made a huge error that my oppenent could have won the game on, but he missed it.  In looking through the computer analysis of it, I've not felt like I agreed with it all the time.  Not just in this game but others.  But take a look at the diagram, from a few moves prior to my big mistake (which lucky for me was missed by my opponent) and see what you think.  My opponent moved Qxb6, which the computer analysis said was a blunder.  The diagram shows how the computer thinks the continuation should have gone.

That happens to me with my chessmaster. It analyze just certan no. of moves in front. So I had situations where I am in wining position with great pawn structure and in mate in one for my opp.

HiStreptomicin, thanks.  I'll look more at the move I made being questioned by the computer analysis but definately calculate out my own variations off the computer's suggestions.
