I do not see anything wrong in using conditional moves in OTB.

(this was a conditional reply, in case there was someone complaining about it!!)

Now programming in NEW settings for computer to cook dinner....haven't quite mastered it yet, but not giving up until it's a success. If anyone else has had luck here, please forward settings on. Also accepting mop the floor scripts.

I'd caution against using conditional moves for the "See, I know what you're thinking" type of oneupmanship. This is because, sooner or later, you'll get stung by it when you miss seeing a good line of play for your opponent--or, even worse, when you include an outright blunder among your conditional moves. Egg on face? Whew! Best to resist the temptation and use conditional moves only for actual forced moves or, at least, seemingly mandatory recaptures.

I agree with nimbleswitch, if you start using it too much ... you are not really using it for what it is for, and it is bound to get you into trouble.

Thanx for all the comments  , I guess that there is more use for conditional moves then I thought  previously , I have even used it a few times now  when I can finish the game .

Personally, I don't think there's much danger in configuring conditional moves, even if the goal for doing so is simply to wage psychological warfare.  The reason being that a conditional move wouldn't be configured in non-forcing situations.

If I've already seen a sequence of forced moves I stand a better chance of forgetting about the sequence if I *don't* configure a conditional move since there can be days between each move.  I've been burned by my memory countless times but I can't recall ever configuring a conditional move that resulted in a blunder....

I'm very disappointed no one has yet configured a programmed conditional "cook dinner" response. So now I have to manually log off to manually start preparing a meal.
