Follow this event, if you care: Houdini 1.5a x64 vs. Deep Rybka 4.1 x64100 games @ 120 min./1st 40 moves; 120 min./next 40 moves; 90 min. + 30 seconds/move for rest of game
nice game BUT I PREFER Rybka.
Houdini is hard to chain down, especially if you're a little fish.
Houdini is a lot better on all time.
I've always enjoyed seeing computers bash each other instead of me for once
Witness the "stupidity" of computers. Go to the tournament link: http://www.westportchessclub.org/computer-chess/rybka-vs-houdini-100-games-match.htm, load up game 10, jump to move 105, note that it's a draw, and see what happens when a computer is programmed to never settle for a draw.
Game 16 was a blow-out. Houdini defeated Deep Rybka 4.1 in a Closed Ruy Lopez today.
Houdini finally won as Black in a Semi-Slav in round 17. Nice tactic winning the exchange on move 51.
After 20 rounds, Houdini 1.5a x64 leads Deep Rybka 4.1 SSE42 x64 with a score of 5-2-13 (W-L-D). It got another win this morning in a Queen's Gambit Declined.
After 30 rounds Deep Rybka 4.1 SSE42 x64 now leads Houdini x64 by a score of 15.5 - 14.5.
After 40 rounds Houdini x64 now leads Deep Rybka 4.1 SSE42 x64 by a score of 20.5 - 19.5. Game 40 shows how to mate with a Knight and a Bishop!
After being dealt 4 losses, Rybka fights back for a win in a Semi-Slav in round 45:
After 50 rounds, it's a tie. Each engine has 10 wins, 10 losses, and 30 draws.
For the final 50 games, each engine will play the White side and the Black side of the same opening. In rounds 51 and 52, Houdini won as White and Black in a Queen's Indian.
After 60 rounds, Houdini leads by a score of 31.5 - 28.5 (15 wins, 12 losses, 33 draws).
thx for the link. This match is cool.
