With just over twenty minutes left on his clock my opponent sat (or went out for a beer). He no doubt was weighing his many move options. So I had to sit for those twenty minutes. This is not the first time I have run into this problem, is there anything I can do? Is there a jerk list where I can add his name?

    Anyone playiing this jerk BEWARE!!!

Ridiculous!!! I think that would be a good idea to have a "Beware of this @#8" and just tell which game it is, so everyone can judge for themselves and avoid dealing with a character like that.

Yes venting doesn't solve the problem, but you feel a little better.

If he does not have a good excuse or atleast apologize then he should be marked, branded and set as an example for sleezy play!

What seems to be the problem here? You won the game didn't you?

    After 73. ... Rb2

If you're willing to miss a mate in one, then how can you blame your opponent for seeing it through?

That's pretty much what I was thinking  when I read the OP's complaint. What he did was legal, if not very considerate. I personally would wouldn't mind suffering through a twenty minute wait with all my opponents in a forced mate position...

Touche' RubyG. You cannot police anonymous web behavior. What I fail to see is the game was won but lambasting a player for some slight is not worthwhile. But alas, this is what chess is and we all put ourselves in the breach whenever we log on!
