To be honest if you typed "chess.com" into google, google now have much more information on you than chess.com does :)
Its called the interent and nothing is ever fully private, its just about trusting which companies with the information you provide.
Its kind of like having to walk into a shop but you have a bike, your not allowed bring your bike into the shop but you have to buy a drink of water.
you need to ask a passerby to watch your bike, you could choose the really rough looking guy with broken handcuffs on his wrists or you can choose the official looking man in a suit.
you get to choose who you trust with your bike

"Who's getting something for free? Nobody, that's who. Nothing in this world is free. You mean I don't pay money to chess.com. I have in the past but no I don't now, but that still doesn't mean this site is makes money off me everytime I visit. Do you think advertisers are lining up to give chess.com money because they are really nice people? No. It's because people use the site."
Of course Chess.com makes money, why should they not, this is a business just like any other. Before you joined this site you agreed to all the rules so why start crying now. But as has already been mentioned before, you still have various options to control what Chess.com store on your computer. You of course have the ultimate option if you choose, you can leave Chess.com and join one of the other chess sites. So please stop whining about privacy, you and you alone are the one who is choosing to play chess here, there are no guns at your head forcing you to stay.

Thanks for the thoughts from inside the bubble, JinLun, chess.com should make that one of their slogans "Stop whining about privacy. Chess.com, endorced by the Internet Censor Bureau of the PRC."

Typical, cant think of anything constructive to say you resort to talking about things of which you have no knowledge.I believe this thread has worn out it's usefulness. By the way "endorced" is spelled endorsed

Actually "spelt" is the past participle of "to spell" and is just as acceptable as "spellled". I think it's used a lot more in the UK than in the US (and presumably Canada judging by your reaction).
I'm not sure "spellled" is acceptable at all, except maybe by waffllemaster or ilikeflags.
Don't be such a slpennilg nazi.

I'm just here because someone said there were cookies.
That was probably oinquarki. Turns out it was an empty promise.

Cookies are full of trans fats that clog your coronaries... best avoided... try fresh fruit instead!
I'd rather have a stiff slug of Scotch:):)

This grammar-interplay between JinLun & dlagwagon has been great fun & added interest to this thread !
Not if you're talking about wheat it isn't.
Oh, my mistake. He was clearly saying that incorrect spelling "endorced" has the public approval of that particualr type of wheat.
You can't makle this stuff up folks
