Did you notice the conditional moves in turn based chess?I did those.Reason is that,I also play on another website(2 games that are being stalled by opponents) and there is a feature like that in there.I said "Why not on chess.com?"And here it is.

You make the move for your opponent. And,you make the move that you would play after your opponent plays that move.

For example,you play 1.e4,and you set a conditional move(s)like"If e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bc4 Nf6 Ng5".

Use your conditional moves where they are needed!!

i see. so basically, you save time by having not to play out all those moves individually if you know they will be played?

I think saying, "I did those" detracts from the credit that should be going to the programmer(s) who spent time and effort actually creating the option for us.  Don't get me wrong, I thank you for suggesting it to the team, but let's all be sure to thank the guys that make the buttons.

Silent's right. I'll just add that they did it in record time as well. Functionality like that doesn't just happen over night; except for these guys. Cool

Another great feature.  The fact that the team is responsive to our request and executes in such a timely manner is just another reason that this is the greatest turn based site on the internet.

How shoudl this help one? Is it by savin our time  that we  already make our moves assuming the opponent moves in a way we expect  ? O r does it have something more to it ?

You mean that you type in a set of moves so you moves are played automatically even if you are on vacation?

woodstock: i wouldn't trust conditional moves enough to go on vacation unless there's a forced mate. if your opponent doesn't follow along, you risk losing on time.

i like it. its fun, although it makes me sad how predictable i am even when the moves are not forced. :( although who knows maybe even more people put in conditional moves and i just didn't realize it because i didn't follow them.

I have used conditional moves once for a forced mate and it was good because my win was waiting for me but somehow i felt it took a little bit of the fun out.

maybe i'm just being silly

anyway i think this is a great change to the site. thankyou chess.com programmers.
