Friends of chess.com have a lot of care when you send messages to your friends since the system detects that if you send about to 2 messages(the same), places you as spammer. The "system" yesterday they blocked myself my account by promoting a tournament of a friend, since I cannot create one own by my timeouts 5%, so I sent to my friends the link of the tornament so they join in the tournament and then surprise, surprise my account was disabled. How we should can promote the tournaments that are not ours. The idea to promote it is to be able to begin to play in it since we lacked about the half of the people required to initiate the tournament. What's the correct way to promote there or should be a form to comunicate with your friends and recomend things like view a post or joining a tournament, without been block.
This is a great site, but when machines overcome human, not even chess it's fun.

just make sure the messages you send are personal, not copy/paste.

I can see how it can be construed as spamming, if everyone promoted their/their friend's tournament to everyone else then the number of messages would be massive. For this reason I would suggest not doing so, if you want to promote your tournament then think of another less annoying method!
I don't think that is annoying, because this people are your friends, it's like you feel that reading your mails from family and friends it's annoying, you want to know what's up with them.
It's your community of chess.com, it's a style of living with people that have your same interest.

A simple alteration to each mail, something that customizes it, like 'Hey bob, hey mary', let's they system know that you are not spamming. There's not really a way to send a group memo is the idea we're trying to get across. Trust me, this is a really really good thing. Sorry about your personal inconvenience, but the little extra time spent by yourself to add an individual touch to each message will save you TONS of time having to delete crap messages if they didn't run things this way.
That's a nice way to see it.
Thnks.
one idea is to let your friends know things via a blog. you could let them know to keep up with current topics there, and us it as a bulletin board of sorts. That's what I do myself. Instead of sending each and every one of my friends an email to let them know how life is going, I blog it and anyone can check it there and see what's up
