I've heard in the forums of many cases where a player 'disconnect's from live chess. Now, I'm sure that it would be true, for the same changes occur if he forfeits. But I would like to know who believes that in this game, black just so happened to 'disconnect', so he did it on purpose, on this particular move. It was on the twelfth move that the game was 'abandoned'.
The player's name will not be included.

Black completely outplayed white and is about to win material. If he did it on purpose it was to keep his rating low. It's impossible to know from just the moves, we all have computer trouble from time to time -- you were black in this game so you know, if you want to know what I would think if I were white, I wouldn't know either way and wouldn't care, I'd go on to the next game.
No, I was black, and was 'winning' until white 'disconnected'.

This game is easily 'won' for black. Don't worry about it. If he disconnected because he was losing then more fool him; if not then it's a shame that he was not able to finish it. Either way; you win really, online rating points don't signify a whole lot when it comes to Chess knowledge!

Your opponent disconnected and you got the win, so I don't understand the complaint. :)
Fair enough! :)
True that, fool him. But Andrew, I'm pretty sure your 2200 signifies alot! :D You've got a magnificient playing style. :P
Hi vincent_pang,
I've just read in another thread that if your opponent disconnects, you have to wait for a while to get the win. I didn't realise this at the time of writing the above (I haven't played Live Chess in a long time). I assumed it worked like in FICS, where if your opponent disconnects by, for example, closing the window, you instantly get the win.
I can now understand your complaint --- that your opponent should have resigned rather than make you wait for the win. Sorry for the misunderstanding. :-)
Hahaha, I only just read your apology, it's alright. :D
