Do women like letting men win? If so, WHY???

Sort:

Do many talented women enjoy building up men's delicate egos by letting them feel like they've won all on their own . . . or are these women simply afraid of the long term effects of such demasculating victories?

cartman975_31

my experiances have been that women dont care in the least about games except that a man is playin it with them, am i wrong?

blueemu

Certainly my delicate male ego needs all the freebies it can get.

dashkee94

If I ever beat one, I'll let you know what she says.

I actually don't like to see guys cry in front of me, so I usually play chess on the Internet;) But if I was talented, then I'd probably let them win so that they don't get all demasculated and take all the pillows.

Well, counting myself amongst the untalented, I play to win. If men become demasculated because of it, there is always Viagra.

I know you're popular, and a chick, so I will probably get some troll attacking me for saying this.

But why would you start a thread that is posted in one form or another almost every week on Chess.com and always ends-up with the same pointless drivel?

Surly a smart gal like yourself does not need to feed YOUR delicate ego by placing bait for mindless trolls who don't get that whole man/woman thing.

chess2Knights

I do not think the women ever let us win by intent or the other way around.

Doggy_Sanchez

Man or woman, I don't care. If you beat me then I will congratulate you and thank you for a very good game and then immediately go and cry in a corner. Gender has no issue to me, just as ratings don't. It's the pieces and the positions on the board, not the opponent.

EDIT - I hope every person I play gives the game their best, rather than handing over victory.

I've never lost to a woman OTB. :-)

Oh Batgirl, what an original topic!! (BTW is there such a word as "demasculating"? do you mean "emasculating"?)

Do women like losing to men? I don't think so. And I seriously doubt you've ever let a man win. If so, I am disappointed in you.

Batgirl is trolling. I never thought I'd see the day

Well, according to statistics women tend to be more masochistic, while men tend to be sadists. Women enjoy the feeling of inferiority because it brings them closer to their traditional roles in primitive times.

I thought so. But it seems like a strong accusation to make against a respected member of CC.

Interesting. I'd really like to read the statistics. Could you post a link?

All I know is I have never beaten a healthy woman. After the game they always complain about some mysterious illness that hits them once a month or something...seriously cant they make up something more believable than that?

Didn't some famous chess player make that quote? "I've never beat a healthy opponent."

kleelof

Hardly scientific and representative of women in general.

I would also be interested in where you got your information about "Women enjoy the feeling of inferiority because it brings them closer to their traditional roles in primitive times"
