Do you win on time?

How many people have the little "automatically claim wins on time" box ticked?

Personally, I don't like winning on time. I know, I know, the time controls were agreed before the game, blah, blah, blah, but I still prefer the game to be played to a finish.

I have claimed wins before when my opponent hasn't signed in for a very long time, but I generally don't like doing it, and I was just wondering how many of you felt the same, and how many of you thrive on it, the higher rated the opponent, the better!!

I claim the win on time if I am in a winning position and my opponent just lets time expire.

If it is roughly even I uncheck that box in settings.

Wins a win, be it checkmate or timeout.

I once forgot my password so i lost nearly all of my games :(

i don't think you should have a time limit incase your internet fails (my friend had that and his score went down loads! - Kinder5000)

I just lost my game first game on this site on time.  I honestly thought I had the upper hand too.  I don't even really know what "winning on time" means.  Can anyone explain?  Thx

Yes, the box is ticked.  Saves me a lot of clutter.  I hate having slow games running which is why I generally only play people with below 6 hour move times.  Plus some people actually seem to prefer timing out to letting you checkmate them or resigning.

I'm an hour away from winning a game on time which my opponent obviously thinks I have won, because they have let the time run down (14 days) and played other games in the meantime. However my last move was a blunder and my position is helpless.

haha nice,

you should of pretended to him that you actually thought he was still useing his time (and not throwing in the towel the bad way) and said something like "gee, thank god this was a 14 day game and not a 15.7, or else you would have nailed that for sure" Tongue out
