I'm serious man...ever since my friend started playing chess he became more violent and more self-centred.

Maybe chess can increase violence. I mean, pretty much every game/sport can make loosing player mad. Chess was banned in some of the U.S. schools: "for being way too competitive sport". What kind of nonsense is that ?? Every sport is competitive, that's why it's called sport, right? Playing online/internet chess , when loosing games makes some people really mad; while playing real OTB tournaments don't (or less).
People should just act more professional and don't take looses way too serious.

I agree with Yury because sometime ago someone commited suicide because they lost a chess game...sad how this world can turn out...No one was just *poof* your a grandmaster.It takes skills,sweat,and determination.
