Don't want 960

Could I somehow disable all 960 related messages and links. That is not a chess but a disgrace of a game for me and I do not want to be bothered with the messages and content related to that nonsense.

Also this site should stop supporting that, IMO. If not please add option to completely disable any link or notion of 960.

Completely blocking out any references to Chess960 is impossible, at least doing so in a way that makes sense is. Also, the site isn't likely to stop offering it to those who want to play it. If you don't want to play it, you don't have to. Just don't accept any games, or start in any tournaments that feature it, and you won't ever have to play it. Most of the games on this site are NOT 960 anyway.

I was wondering this too just couldn't be bothered with posting it. I also think chess960 is nonsense.

I don't think taking away the option of playing 960 would be right, but, I agree that Chess960 is a disgrace. An arrogant statement by some jerk who couldn't defend his title and insulted the game of chess by announcing it was dull. It's Fischer's crybaby legacy.

What ridiculous statements from all of you.  How can you be so offended just by the existence of a fun chess variant?  If you don't like it, don't play it.  If you're offended by its existence, get your head checked.

If you don't like people having dissenting opinions on 960, don't read it. If you're offended by the existence of dissent, get your head checked.

Let's not be childish tryst, staggerlee makes a good point.

With you on that staggerlee - it's a bit of fun and makes a nice change from time to time - bloody good tactics and strategy practise too. Anyone getting offended by the existence of a game needs a serious reality check Laughing

The ONLY difference is that theory is removed.

    Draw your own conclusions.

Your post was childish. And if he made a good point it's invisible to me.

Not the only difference at all.

Actually I would like to see Chess 960 in Live Chess too. I think that it is a good idea regardless of who invented it and why.

    What else?

The uneven positions are offset by playing two games by switching sides.

Castling is easy. I figured it out on my own.

I don't get it. I don't play it because I prefer the normal position but I play it every once and a while but only in a live game. No way I'm wasting days on a game I don't really like.

To me it is ridiculous. It is not a "chess variant" as someone said and difference is not just a "removed theory".

It is just stupid and waste of time to me. A failed mock attempt of a real chess. It should not be promoted and encouraged because it hurts real chess IMO.

I don't like it and don't want to be bothered with messages and invitations about it.

Omega chess is always a nice variant.

I've never played it, but it's quite obvious that apart from opening theory going out of the window the games will take on an entirely different nature to regular chess.

is there anyway to just block all posts and threads and any other content on this site that i find annoying and whiny? i mean to include all threads where people complain about additional content on this site that the site owners were gracious enough to add for everyone who is interested in using it.

no there isn't a way? guess i'll just have to try to ignore threads like this one in the future.
