I don't think they should do this, because it is theoretically possible to have a drawn position before 30 moves.

I doubt the playing level here necessitates such a rule. This is a social place why burden it with a bunch of unneeded rules and regulations.

I think he wants to forbid draws BEFORE the 30th move, not after. But I would think for the most part, most draws before the 30th move would be agreed to by both parties so why would you need to ban them if one player can simply refuse and play on. Maybe I'm wrong though.
This isn't going to work. Many many positions are clear draws before 30 moves. You can't generalise Chess this way, it doesn't work. If people want to play for a draw then that's up to them!

lol sorry my bad I meant to say before.
I drew a game in 16 moves once.. its possible to have a complete drawn game before the 30th move.. it would be just a pointless waste of time moving a piece back and forth because there is this draw rule.
It's not true that we have clear positional draws before move 30, we are not grandmaster and we make blunders a lot of times, so why to aks for a draw if you are just starting the game?

why does it matter? honestly, if some1 wants to draw let it be, 90% of the time it is not a draw before the 30th move, but it doesnt matter.. this rule isnt really effective and i see no point to it.
I had a draw on the 16th move once, where we really couldnt move anything except one other piece, unless u wanted a bad blunder. even if this rule takes place and it is a draw before the 30th move, then why not do..
3 move repitition? thats a draw and the sofia rule cannot interfeer that.
Can i show you something?

HI All,
i think it would be good if chess.com make a draw rule for tournamets or maybe for single games. i.e. the Sofia rule, no draw before the move 30th.
what do you all think about it?
thanks!
