For those who celebrate Christmas and have been good boys/girls this year, what chess item will Santa bring you this holiday...?
I received mine early...
two chess books (on the Slav and the Dragon)
and
Deep Rybka.
Santa will bring me an overnight rating of 2880,and i will win the world chess championship.
I want a very good chess engine (like Deep Rybka), a new computer to run it on (my old one is damn slow), and...a HIGHER rating.
Hopefully a couple of books: Nimzovich's My System, Logical Chess Move by Move, Zurich International Chess Tournament 1953, and Sharpen your Tactics.
Got it already, but still in the box till Christmas. A wood chess board, 2 1/4 inch squares with coordinates .
deep rybka won't stand a chance once santa brings me my 2880 rating(moohahahahahhhh)
Chronos chess clock fat man, you'd better bring me a black chronos chess clock with red buttons or else Rudolph will be reindeer jerky. Oh, and if you even bring me a checker set, if you even dare, i'll cyanide your milk!
I don't think we can top your wish list (at least rating-wise!)
yeah KEY WORDS here WISH LIST!!!!!
Hiarcs-12
Oh yeah!? Santa's giving me Deep Rybka 10 with an ELO rating of 5014!
I think Deep Rybka 3 is like already past 3000 ELO...
Santa is hopefully bringing me some chess books - Silman and Seirawan probably. I would also like some serious chess intuition, but apparently the elves can't make that in time for this Christmas, maybe next year then...
Something that I haven't already got, so that would almost anything to do with chess. When moved home some years back some books and went missing. So, Santa a good book on openings would be ideal (I think it best to talk to Mrs Santa!).
A netbook so I can comfortably visit chess.com from the living room - I feel so anti-social slinking off to the room with the PC all evening ...
My 60 Memorable Games by Fisher. 'Course, I'll have to start using descriptive notation, but I'm sure it will be worth it.
A subset of the following:
Batsford has just come out with a new edition that is algebraic. In every other respect it is the same as the original edition.
