I don't think players should be allowed to play more than 2 games simultaneously in any 3-day-per-move tournament. Why? because it leads to time pressure, and some players seem to resign too early. Or they simply run out of time. This in turn can lead to the "winner" getting an inflated rating.

Alternatively, the "winner" in this situation should have the option of refusing the rating increase if their opponent loses on time.

Possibly there could be some adjudication in these situations?

So would you like the scope of this setting to be changed?

These settings control who you play with, how many games you play, and what the game looks like!
NOTE: These settings can't help you win... that's a setting in your head! :)

 Game Settings

Auto-Win on Time: Automatically claim victory when time runs out!
Tournament games always win on time automatically.
There would still be pressure from other non-tournament games, of course. In order to regulate the total pressure, the site would need to control the number of games a player paricipates in - an idea floated here  http://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-players/awardchess-and-erik
Some players can handle more stress than others, so ideally, this safety mechanism should be customisable (http://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/voluntary-restraint).

I'd like to add my two cents and say that I have the win on time unselected (or is it deselected???) because I would rather win due to skill, not someone forgetting to turn on vacation setting. This is fine, but sometimes people don't seem to come back for a while...and it would be nice to be able to have the power to cancel the game if they are not logging in. It wouldn't be a loss or win for anyone, just an understanding of "okay well you don't want to play, I don't want my rating/win % changing because of this non-representative game". Ha ha in a few months with all these suggestions we're all going to be complaining that chess.com takes too long to load! Smile
