facebook is down

Facebook seems down at the moment. Anyone else having problems connecting to facebook?

Apparently, some news outlets are reporting that it is affecting the US, and Asia. But, in fact, it is down globally. Instagram is also down.

It is back up now. Good.

I couldn't log on to the site ... it made me slightly panic.

Nah dude, never crossed my mind.  You think MI5 might be watching your online activities? feeding it down to GCHQ?  You use a VPN right?

The outage lasted for about an hour. Substantial considering hundreds of millions of people's social lives evolve around it. When it came back up, I was relieved.

Unfortunate that the news outlets cannot get it right. Some were reporting that it affected the US, and Asia, while another one said it only affected parts of Europe, US and Australia. It was in fact globally and widespread. Only one agency had it right.

And I thought news was information focused and not all about selling commercials... and here you're telling me they didn't get their facts right?

I don't believe it.
