    Hi,

I would like to know what are the good places for a chess tourist in USA. By chess tourist I mean a chess player who is  very average club player in terms of strength an d wants to roam around USA to see the famous places related to chess. For example, I have visted Marshall's Chess Club in New York and Mechanics Institute of San Francisco.

Washington Square Park in NYC and the adjacent Thompson Street chess book shops.

World Chess Hall of Fame in Miami.

There is no chess at Washington square, that part of the park is closed. Even when it's not closed there's nothing worth seeing there. The marshal chess club, on West 10th is a much better choice.

    Mechanics Institute in SF

I thought the World Chess HOF left Miami and is in the process of being relocated to St Louis (which also has a great chess club)

I am a regular in mechanics chess institute in SFO now-a-days. St Louis Chess HOF should be my next chess travel target then. Thank you.
