I was wondering if anybody here played fantasty football. Probably not, but it is highly addictive on ESPN.com. I also might put my ratings on here if you guys reply. FFL!!!!!

Almost 700k members so we can't all be geeks. Some of like us the NFL and other manly sports. It's not all about chess but sometimes our geek side need to come out. Being a Canuck I like to fight while standing on very sharp blades. Outside of Canada some call it ice hockey. Here in Canada we just call it hockey. I am a hoser but I'm also a chess geek. Who would have guessed! And yes. the NFL is truly a wonderful thing. It's a bit anti-Canadian to like the American game better than  the Canadian version but based on the numbers I'd say most of us do. And fantasy leagues are huge up here.

I used to.  In fact I used to be a league commish and play in a couple of them.  But I have changed careers (from Psychologist to being a Pastor) and I do not have the time to watch the games, keep up with ESPN, see who is hurt, which team has a bye week, etc.

It is a lot of work.  I work, spend time with my family, and play chess.  Clergy also need to study the Bible and other things (visit the sick, etc.).  So now on Sundays I just enjoy whatever game is on the idiot box.  If the game is not interesting (and my team, Denver, fired a coach that won two of three Superbowls and traded away the best young quarterback in the league in Jay Cutler to Chicago) I would rather read or play chess -- especially Sundays when I preach (I am not the Senior Pastor, so I do not preach all that often).

I am with you though.  I wonder how many serious or semi-serious chess players get into Fantasy Football.

 I hate to tell you this but fantasy football isn't all that "manly".  Kind of nerdy actually.

Smoke, I totally agree with you. Some of us are probably not total giants geeks. We just are geeks sometimes. For those of us semi geeks, you should defenitely play cbs or espn ff. Also, at myfantasyleague.com you can play for big bucks.

Number 1, Adrian Peterson??? I dont think so anybody else?

I am in a points per reception league.  If I get no.1 I feel like Peterson is still the best player.  However, I might pick jones drew.  If it isn't a ppr league I would have to go with peterson.  We still don't know if jones can handle the full load(although it seems peterson can't really without getting injured)

Of course, I am looking for a good league if anyone wants to send me an invite.
