Who is your favorite chess player and why? My favorite chess player is Mikhail Tal for his brilliant attacks and sacrifices, even if they were supposedly unsound :)

I'd have to say DeeperBlue.

Karpov for obvious reasons, and his gentlemanly behavior. 

However Euwe comes in a close second, simply because of how excellent his books are.

I'm not sure who my all-time favorite player is yet. I need to study more classic games, but I really love Gata Kamsky's style. I know Kamsky's playing style is influenced by Tigran Petrosian. Maybe I should look at some Petrosian games.

I second this opinion, at least for the enjoyment of the fight. Another of my favorites is his polar opposite, Tigran Petrosian, for his patient and accurate defense against those dubious attacks.

I have always been a fan of Bobby Fischer because of his brilliant play. No so regarding his political and poor personality traits.
