I just managed to get a draw with a fide master but I am unsure of how to tell whether S/he is really an FM.
It was played on playchess.com with 20m '10' time controls they have FM next to there username so I checked and Nigel short also online had GM in the same box as where the FM in questions was.
Is there anyway I can tell?
Btw his name was WW888 and I will post the game if anybody is nice enough to tell me how I can view my games on playchess.com
Im pretty sure anyone can choose a title on playchess.com when they register. I have seen a couple players rated 1600 or so with the title GM next to their name, so i reckon it could be or might not be an FM who you beat. I think the best way to decide is to actually have a look at the game. How about you post it?
I beat a guy called IMIsreal but i doubt he is an IM. In this case, IM is in his 'name' and not his 'title' box.
Congrats on beating him rexbo. Was it a good game?
well thats the thing I have played against an IM (attila turzo) and another FM (queenfish on ICC) and this guy was no where near to the standard of attila but roughly if not a bit worse then Queenfish but the game I played against queenfish was "1"minute and they ran out of time so that wasn't really a victory.
Graw I would post the game but I don't know how to find it on Play chess oh and to every one I only drew I was just proud cos' it was on slighly longer time controls then usual (and thats what I though scalps meant )
Dalmatinac that is a stupid thing to say anybody who has a master title is an extremely strong player I mean have just started studying for my experts and I'll be stoked if I manage to get that! AndI really do believe Reb will be an FM in time to come.
