I wonder, do you do what I do in that when you are planning your next series of move (assuming something has transpired you didn't plan on) you start with whatever forced moves are available and start branching out from there?

Ok.  Lets say during middle game...you get to a point when you're plan has become abandoned and you need a new plan of attack.  I usally start by examining my possibilities.  Then I start my series of possibilities with the moves I can force and branch off from there.  It seems to me that I should start my line of thining with forced moves bc the are 100% and go from there.
