Hi all

I ordered Fritz 12 a couple of days ago, just before noticing some posts on Fritz 13.  I read up on the new "Let's Check" feature which is really cool and could save some time, but other than that I could not see any significant changes that is going to benefit me at the level I'm at.

I want to use Fritz mainly for analysis (I really need a proper PGN game editor as well), play some practice games against the engine, look up some openings and play through some master games that get packaged with it.  Also I ordered a CD on my favorite opening which requires Fritz to run.

So I think for my specific needs Fritz 12 would be sufficient.  Any thoughts?  Also, if there are some features on Fritz 12 that are worth knowing about, share those too please.

Fritz 13 is exactly the same as Fritz 12 with the exception of the Let's Check feature which is very nice, particularly for people with slow computers.  It is the difference between 2 hours to analyze a game and 2 minutes.  There are some other minor interface changes.  I would watch the uscfsales FritzTips on youtube to learn all the features.

Fritz 12 will do it. I have been using it for some time, and frankly for people rated our level it is all more than enough!
