Earlier today, I played a game that entailed an interesting king manuever, leaving it in the dead centre by the 13th move. What I find more remarkable is that I still won, despite the fact that, under most circumstances, most opening experts or teachers would be screaming with horror in finding their king in the same place at that time.
My question/request: Share your crazy games when you have done something that contrasts completely with conventional theory, and won the game as a result.
Btw: here is my game

Interesting. Why not Bd5+ on 33?
Because I've no tactical vision whatsoever .
Cogwheel
Bd5 was your best choice, I agree with lemoj.

As you said, trading queens is great if your king is exposed. Also, right after the queen trade, your opponent's rooks and bishop were completely blocked by his/her pawns, making your central king safer still.
Well played, and interesting.

You didn't "win the game as a result", you won the game DESPITE bringing your king out like that. You won the game by playing significantly stronger chess. Your first king move was also forced.
The higher the analysis done by the opponent (rating of your opponent and the longer the game), the more fatal playing something like that is. In 1-5 minute chess, below GM or IM level you can get away with all kinds of silly stuff in your opening and it won't make that much difference.

haha, agreed, interesting game! you missed a check with the bishop that picked up the rook, and a couple other minor things but i like the opening! :D

I love 12.Kd3!
Instead of 31.Kc3?, maybe 31.Nxb7 Kxb7 32.Bd5+ picking up the exchange and being up a whole rook.
Or 33.Bd5+ also.
In the final position, you're up two full pieces, and all your opponent has is 3 connected passed pawns on the q-side. For example, if you sacrifice even just one of your pieces for a queenside pawn (the b pawn) leaving your opponent with two isolated passers, you'll easily win the game, especially with your own powerful kingside pawns, after taking on f5 with the bishop.
You should maybe play out the final position a couple of times with another person, maybe from both sides, to see just how easy it is to win this for white.

Interesting, I also like Kd3. I wonder why you didn't play 21. exf6 though?
