I've been putting more and more time into chess and slowly improving. While looking at an opponents past games one day, I realized something I had completely missed. Analyz your opponents games. Duh, what an idiot I've been. If you have the time, you can see how you oppnent opens, where their strengths and weaknesses are, etc. I'm professionals analyze games why shouldn't we. It now explains why certain people have started the games with opening I had noknowledge of and beat the snot out of me from the get go. Now I look at my opponents playing style and prepare from there. Even though I am a novice player, it had made a world of difference.

     As a side note, my laptop crashed early last week. On it were all my game notes, 201 chess books in pdf format, training software, etc. I am temporarily using my wife's computer until mine is fixed. So much for technological advances. The sick thing is the computer was crashed because of a Microsoft security update. Bill Gates I hope you get a turd in stocking for Christmas you creep!

Given the time, I think this is a good idea. However, I don't have the time to review my opponents weaknesses and work on my own.  If someone gets me into a grinder of an opening that I know nothing about, when I review it, I'll be better off next time. 

The one thing of interest is the PDF books! Are they freely available?

Anytime. I also find flipping the board and viewing the game from my opponent's position helps. I should of done this from the start.
