In 2000, Kasparov's rating reached the astonishing number of 2,851. In his last appearance on the FIDE Top 100 after his retirement, Kasparov's rating was 2812. Kasparov is one of a very elite group to have made the jump over 2800.

Arguably the strongest player of all time. I hope he carries on playing in exhibitions, he is superb to watch. He is as well a good man, it's a pity there isn't any democracy in Russia, he would have made a great president.

Actually, chess and politics don't blend well. In politics, you cannot think like a chess player. But if are a Field Marshal, maybe the idealogy is applicable.
