Sune Berg Hansen  (born Sep 24, 1968) became Denmark's 7th GM in 1998.  He took 1st place in the Swedish championship in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009.  His best Elo rating was 2568 in 2000.  In 2000, he played in the FIDE world championship knockout tournament in New Delhi, but got knocked out in the first round against Russia's Andrei Kharlov.  He now spends more time promoting chess (lots of chess simuls) than playing and is a chess columnist for a daily newspaper.  Here is one of his best tactical games.

I guess you meant he took 1st place in the danish championship Wink

In late april this year Sune Berg Hansen won the Thailand Open tournament 1 point ahead of Nigel Short.

Think this is his biggest win so far.

    Current fide rating: 2595
