good chess position?

Hello! :)

i know its a general question... but -

how can i know when a position is good over my opponent? what parameters should i look for? (pawn structure i guess etc.)

i guess its need to be as an article... i didnt find one...

The best explanation I've read is Silman's discussion of imbalances ... it's a tad difficult for novices, but I'm sure some of the features can be readily understood by all. Here's a review within chess.com of the text involved: Reassess Your Chess.
