Hello ... I thought it would be nice to have a thread in tribute to those who have shown good sportsmanship here. So if you know someone, here's a place to say so!

I had a Live Chess game with Knuckles50, who really went beyond the call of duty for me in offering a draw, right after my own careless mouse grabbed my K instead of B and started to walk it to the center about 7 or 8 moves into the game. (Not a good strategy!) To add to it, I tried in reflex to gab it and Put It Back on his move (duh)... so it moved it again as a preselected move! I just mentioned it so he would know why I play so wierd. And he offered Me a draw. (Then crushed me next game properly too! Well Done) Thanks Chessfriend~!

Regards All  }8-)

I haven't been in a situation like that but most of my opponents have been really friendly and shown good sportsmanship so I'll have to thank them all.

Not many would have offered a draw in Knuckles situation and I like what he did. Ofcourse this is nothing you should expect to happen if you make a mistake, I belive that if you make a mistake it is your own fault and your opponent shouldn't have to offer a draw like he did in your situation. Still, I respect his decision.

I have yet to have anyone on this site show poor sportsmanship and ridicule my poor play.

I've played at several sites, and the community here is by far the best.

i've found a pretty (un)healthy mixture of really cool and frindly people, total douche bags, and people who are simply--blah.  mostly, the rudies are more few and far between than the nicies.  that makes me happy.

I've had a few on live chess who has stopped moving when it becomes obvious that they are loosing, so I've had to wait the 20mins for them to loose on time, hoping I won't get disconnected while waiting.

But that's only 3 persons, except for them I've only had a good time on chess.com.

Yes, I quite Agree with you. It was my error and I was prepared to play on and pay the price for it. And would Not have considered it unsporting in any way for my opponent to have made me play on with my error (which I want to make clear!), and I would not have even requested a Draw from him there. It Was My Error, not even a system glich. But that is one reason I felt his gesture to offer the Draw himself(!) was so sporting.

nice. Ive had a similar situation also recently as close as yesterday. The screen froze but me and my opponent could still communicate! It was a bullet game so after so long i asked him if he was still there as his time was going down! Then he told me yes but why am i taking so long to move? lol so it turned out i could see his time decrease and he see mine decrease. He offered a draw and i accepted. As i wrote that i see its not so similar as the outcome (if not a draw agreed) would have been unclear. Mostly ive had nice experiences on live chess (except when i get asldkjgahsdg disconnected and i want to .... someones face in).

Hey, what is the deal? Doesn't anybody have Anybody they find good to play!?

I played silent_pawn a few today, and he was a very talkative good sporting type in Live Chess. It was very fun. Especially since he played into my studies, yet beat me with his WT and gave me a new idea in the Sicilian. Thanks for playing Chessfriend~!
