What is the point of this?

 I think he just got on your nerves....and that was the point i think

by analyzing anything they say to you.  for example, if somebody says "I hate you." that is a very good indicator on whether you get on their nerves.  or if somebody makes moves very slowly in a clear postion only for your games.  what kind of a question is that?   

Just assume you do, and carry on.

Perhaps by posting something that belongs in Off Topic into General Chess Discussion?

Or maybe adding extraneous punctuations?

Unless of course you're asking within the context of a game of chess - or even perhaps a tournament?
