How do draws affect my rating?

My opponent has offered me a draw because he says he made the wrong move. We're 23 moves into the game, and I'm slightly ahead on pieces.

    He's rated 1110 and i'm rated 1194 (and struggling).

I don't want to appear churlish .. if he's made a genuine mistake and would like to start again then fair enough. But not if I'm going to lose a barrel-load of points for my trouble.

Anyone know how many points I'd lose?

    Thanks

You will go down a bit.

He made the wrong move? So beat him, I don't get it. Or he accidentally dragged it to the wrong place and you're being sporting?

    I'm trying to be sporting.

I'll only lose a point, so I'll accept his offer.

    Thanks Scott

What are you playing?  Chess, or yo-yo?

You make your move and live with it.  It's just a game, and an opponent who can't move on after a blunder isn't someone you want to spend time with.

One of my opponents said he'd clicked on the wrong square without noticing by accident, on his phone. I offered a couple of moves to reset it to how it was before that, but he did what I think is the right thing to do, refused and played on.

Really, it's your opponents mistake and they should live with it.

Well, I often use chess as an analogy for life and I think that if I can't forgive the odd blunder in real life .. then i'm not really much of human being.

I was a bit miffed that I didn't even get a 'thank you' from him though.

    Oh well.
