It encroaches on my screen size. How to I turn it off? AND what on earth is "meebo?"

Go to "my home" and then click on "account"
Once there go to "privacy settings"
In there about 1/3 of the way down the page you will see that you can change it from "everywhere" to "show nowhere"
account >> privacy >> chat bar >> never show
