my long game rating is 1100, and i alawys get beaten by 1300+ players, so I get stuck at 1100-1200, how do i improve it?

Allways play e5 to e4, d5 to d4, stick to using e4 yourself, do lots of tactics problem, use this site, and preferably a book on tactics aswell, that will nail the motif down into you.

After you've done this read a book such as Max Euwes "Chess Master Vs Chess Amateurs" that will not only help your tactical abilities (it really does, it shows how you reach the positions you practice in tactic puzzles etc in practice, and the ideas to remember) aswell as some basic points in positional play, grabbing the initiative, and the importance of the middle.

After you've got this down you've reached 1600 and then continue hammering the basics with more easy to read books aimed a fairly new players. "Loigcal Chess Move by Move" By Irving Chernev is a good book to go for when you're around that level.

You need to play other people under 1200 mark, and gradually you will start to beat them. You need to keep playing the opening move you play best with so if you like d4 better than e4, and say you're playing black and someone plays e4 against you you should either play d5 or d6, and if you like e4 better than d4 and someone plays d4 against you should probably play e6 horwitz.

Do you just want to improve your rating or actually improve your play?

If you want to get better at playing chess, study tactics until you can't stand them. Then take a day off and do more.
