How do you decide what group to join?

I get a few messages asking me to join this group or that. Do you join those which sound interesting, or just those where you "know" people? Do you join and, if it ain't your thing, just quit? Or do you try to stage a slow-burning coup over many years? Do you need to "belong" in this random universe or are you happy to plough your own furrow in your, er, field of dreams? (Help, I'm struggling). In short, I suppose, will anyone have me?

If no one will have you rest assured that Kevin still loves you (that's if you still look after him)

I have always had a mistrust of anyone called Kevin, even though one once did me a big favour...

which was to teach you to mistrust anyone called kevin?

to the op, i just joined my country's group to participate in online tourneys & that's it.  i'm just not groupie material ...

That sounds like a challenge. Prepare to receive 100 messages from groups for people who feel they're "just not groupie material..."

No one sexually active from the 60s need apply.

I try to stay away from any group that tries to be as big as possible.

    Good question.

This is a good Open Discussion btw.

I think it depends upon what you are interested in. For example,  you may want to participate in discussions between Atheists and Theists. On the other hand, you may want to be in a group for Atheists (Only) and avoid those sorts of debates. People's interests vary quite a bit, but you could be in a group focusing on your Second Amendment Rights or even a group promoting The Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster. The choice is yours.

Some groups exist for the sake of existing, something to do with the leaders ego.
