how long should tome be spent on analyzing some games.

As long as you want to.  Personally, I only analyze my games while I'm playing them by using the analysis board.  Occasionally I'll look back over a game that I just finished, but not very often.  I play to have fun; chess isn't a subject that I'm studying in order to pass a test.  School gives you plenty of stuff to study.  If I add something to my list of things to study, I've got plenty of better ideas than chess.  That's just me.  I have no idea how long or much you should do anything regarding chess if you want to become a grandmaster or something.  The advice I give people is to just play.
