How many games do you have going?  And, which do you think is better for the beginning or intermidiate player: many games or only a few.

I have to admit I have about forty or so going (was nearly sixty until just a few days ago) and feel my game suffers for it.

I usually only have 10-15 games going, as I think it helps to at least vaguely remember all of your games

i would say 5 is good for me.  i usually have to back track to see what moves i made just to know what i've been doing.

I've got to balance chess and the rest of my life, and in terms of chess, I've got to balance study with play.  For me, that means 5-10 games at most.  I've had over thirty going at once, but it wasn't what I'd call fun anymore.

I guess a lot of it comes down to your average think-time per move, once you've seen the latest position...  I'm pretty slow that way.  :-\

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Really trying to get the number down to something more manageable.
