How much chess do you need to keep your current results? How long can you keep away from it before your skills start degrading? If you are 2000 ELO and you stop playing for half a year, at what rating are you gonna be returning? Generally the effect of time on chess skills.

Depends how old you are.  When I was younger, I would often play better after a prolonged absence.
