nowadays i spend 0 % of my time studying, i enjoy the rush of blitz and that is good enough for me, how about you, how much time do you spend studying? Be honest. I used to when i was much younger but nowadays forget about it.
I hate blitz. It's too slow. I play kung fu chess instead.
u will never get better playing all day. u have to study
I tend to study more than I play but then I'm strange. What's the Russian proverb? Something like "Chess is a lake from which a gnat may drink and an elephant bathe". Something for all of us here is what it's saying and that's one of the things that make it such a great game.
I play kung fu chess instead.
What is that?
its when u dont wait for your opponent to make a move and just move pieces until you chop the king
To find the right study method is a key. If you find it let me know.
OH! I played that with my friend once!
As long as I still hang pieces I find that practicing helps me more than studying. The stuff I studied so far is helpful too but I will go back to studying when I feel confident enough to not hang pieces.
And according to my recent experience that's quite a while to go.
an honest answer based on experience Xilmi, you are the most honest so far, because most others talk on what they mistakenly believe to be so, you speak from your experience which agrees with my experience.
35% study there is a tactics site called chessemerald that is good for free tactics!
I probably study 50% of the time.
I have been thinking lately that I should study 70% and play 30%.
congratulations on being strange.
very nice thought....the proverb, and your assessment.....is so true.
My main study method is to play through some Master games in my openings and try to guess the moves. I should do more of that. I should also actually read some of the many chess books that are gathering dust on my shelf, but mostly I just play.
what's studying :)
Maybe 50% studying and 50% playing.
