Ok everyone there is a fide master at the club where I play and I've played him twice and both times he always grabs the initiative and constantly pushed me around. After the games I analyzed them and both times I never had the initiative AT ANY TIME. I know openings well; I'm rated 1712 USCF. I just couldn't shake him at all. How can I beat him?

On a slightly related topic (because it involves the acronym FIDE) is FIDE pronounced F-eyed or Fee-day? Its a topic of argument where I'm from! Smile

don't know, you really will have to post a game or two if you want some advice from other players. Just remember this guy is obviously a master for a good reason,so don't be to hard on yourself if you can't beat him.

As everyone else you will need to post a game so we can analyse it. By the way I pronounce it as fee-day.
